Larks Lexicon or LL
Vocal
Born in Boston, Larks Lexicon (LL) was surrounded by RnB, soul, and hip-hop, shaping their early musical journey. While the city's urban pulse influenced them, attending school in the suburbs exposed them to various rock genres, further broadening their musical horizons.
LL’s love for music began early, singing in chorus from elementary through high school, which led to performances across North America. Memorable trips included Virginia Beach, Canada, and New York City, where they attended their first Broadway musical.
In college, LL briefly joined the glee club but truly found their musical community with Tunefoolery in spring 2023. Their wide-ranging tastes are influenced by their Jamaican heritage and upbringing as a first-generation American, with reggae playing a central role. LL’s mother, who trained at Juilliard, also shaped their musical aspirations.
Inspired by icons ranging from Marian Anderson and Stevie Wonder to Tupac Shakur and Celia Cruz, LL’s music blends genres to create a distinctive sound.
Looking ahead, LL is developing a project that fuses their musical roots with their heritage. By blending these influences with the sounds of their upbringing, they aim to create a unique musical fusion that celebrates their cultural identity and diverse background.
